What this site is

HomeData.ie publishes planning data and guides for Ireland and sells a desktop pre-planning report. Everything here is general information compiled from public datasets and council documents. It is not planning, legal, engineering or financial advice, and it is not a statutory flood risk assessment.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the information correct, but data can be incomplete, late or wrong at source, and councils change plans and policies. Always check important details with the council or a qualified professional before you rely on them, spend money or lodge an application. Where we are not sure of something, we say so.

The pre-planning report

The report is a desk study of public data around the site you give us. It does not replace a pre-planning meeting with the council, a site visit, a survey, or advice from an architect or planner. Its results depend on the address and outline you provide being correct. The price is shown at checkout and includes VAT where it applies.

Satellite images in reports

Reports can include a satellite image supplied by Esri and its imagery providers (Vantor and Earthstar Geographics), credited under the image. The image is a picture of the area at the time it was captured, which can be months or years old. It is not a survey, and it is not proof of the current state of a property or boundary. You may use the report, including the image, for your own planning and property purposes. You may not extract, trace, copy or reuse the imagery on its own, build a database from it, or resell it. The imagery is provided under Esri's terms of use, which apply to your use of the image in the report: Esri legal terms.

Using the data

Planning data is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence by its original publishers, listed on our sources page. You may use our pages for your own purposes. Please do not copy large parts of the site, scrape it, or resell our reports.

Our liability

We are not liable for decisions you make based on the information here, or for losses caused by errors or gaps in public data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

Links and changes

We link to council and government sites we do not control. We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Irish law applies, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction, unless consumer law says otherwise.
